Things I do now that I couldn't do before...

It's amazing what you (and your body) can do when you drop bit of weight. Sometimes I sit back and look at my life now and see how different it is from just January and I'm so amazed. I work out all the time, I eat right and best of all I feel great. Even my conversations are different now. If I'm not talking about Boot Camp, I'm talking about Zumba, or how to properly do a squat (LOL thanks Hilarie!) I can not wait to see what else I can do as I get closer to my goal. In the mean time here are some snap shots of my accomplishments thus far:
I could not get into these pants before, well I could but only if I didn't want to breathe. Now...they will need to be replaced soon.

I've replaced my desk chair with a stability ball. This is supposed to work on your core and give you a "work out" while you work but quite honestly this darn thing is so much fun! (Thank you Linda Romsey)

I can cross my legs! I can actually sit like a girl now.

I remember on Day 2 of Boot Camp I was asked to do this move and I couldn't. I felt terrible, how did I get to the point where I couldn't even grab my own foot? But look at me now! :) I grab my feet as often as I can now, just because I can, well it also is a great stretch.

I am very excited about my accomplishments yet to come. Moments like these always remind me of the theme song from The Biggest Loser; "what have you done today, to make you feel proud?" I wrote about the things I can do now that I couldn't do before!

  1. The stability ball looks like a great chair. Is your floor slippery? I have hardwood floors under my chair, so I'm wondering the SB would be an accident waiting to happen.

  2. We have carpet here at work but the rubber on the ball I think would be fine on the wood floor. :)

  3. Found your blog through the nest. :)

I have a question on the ball. Do you think it has helped with your posture too? I have read where people that I have bad posture (which I am a sloucher, so I know I do), have improved sitting on a ball.

Also my job is sitting behind a desk for 8 hours. Could you manage to sit all it for 8 hours??

By the way - congrats on all your accomplishments. :)

  4. Hi there! Sorry, I just now saw your comments. It does help with your posture. I've found that in order to maintain balance you have to sit up. I'm a big sloucher and I have found myself to slouch less. I do manage to sit on it for all 8 hours. I think its fun and every once in a while I squeeze in a couple crunches/stretches. When I have move a lot around my desk I switch to a chair for a little while then back to the ball.

Hope that helps and thanks for the kind words and stopping by :)
